PLEASE SPECIFY THE TITLE OF THE BOOK(S) YOU WANT as well as any number, as this helps us to avoid confusion when we deal with your order. Please e-mail orders for books to each of us separately, as we sell just the books from our own list. E-mail addresses are: Sally: sdore@waitrose.com Betula: topsyturvy@blueyonder.co.uk Posting and Payment NEW CUSTOMERS may be asked to pay in advance, while existing customers in the UK and airmail customers abroad are asked to pay on receipt of books, adding the value of the postage at cost. PLEASE PAY PROMPTLY. Otherwise we have cash-flow problems! We generally send parcels by the cheapest method, unless requested otherwise. ( The cheapest method for some weights of parcel is first class. ) Overseas customers should specify if they would like books sent airmail, otherwise we will send them seamail. Parcels of books valued at over £30 will be insured. The cost of postage is in addition to the price of the books. If you haven’t received your parcel within a couple of weeks, please let us know, as there is a limited time in which to claim for lost parcels. Please make cheques out to us each by name, as we sell our books separately. OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS whose books are sent surface mail are asked to pay as soon as they receive their invoice, by airmail or e-mail. Overseas customers only may send a single payment to either of us for books from both of us. Payment generally should be in pounds sterling, but we can also take payments in US or Canadian dollar cheques; please ask. We are happy to take currency notes, sent at the customer's risk, if you add the following to cover the transaction costs; US$5, Can$5, AUS$10; Euros 5; please clear this with us before sending the money. RETURNS Please note that returned books can ONLY be accepted if they are not as described. We can’t take returns for any other reason, so please don’t order books unless you want them! (And if you order the same book from both of us, be prepared to receive two copies!) If you want to check whether or not you already have a book, we will usually be happy to hold books for a while to allow you time to check. Postage Increases As there are increases in both book prices and in postage rates in the offing, we have decided to bite the bullet and announce these increases with effect from the June catalogue, rather than introducing them in dribs and drabs over the next few months (we think the new postage calculations will be a nightmare for post offices, at least for the first few weeks, but will do our best! These changes will mainly affect postage for pre-ordering advance titles, since most of our second-hand book parcels are sent by parcel post and so won't be affected by the new way of calculating letter post - we will continue to ask for payment at cost for these.) We've tried to keep our end of things as simple as possible! GGBP have announced that they will be raising their fiction prices by £1 from now, and so we are reluctantly following suit and raising the price of GGBP titles to £11, the same price as Fidra titles. GGBP non-fiction titles will continue to be £15 plus postage. From August 2006, the way letter postage rates within the UK are calculated will change to take account of size as well as weight. GGBP fiction titles are almost all thin enough to be sent at the new "large letter" rate, but unfortunately Fidra titles, GGBP non-fiction books and most Bettany Press titles are too thick, and will have to travel at the new "packet" rate. In addition, there have been several increases in overseas postage over the last few years, which we have so far absorbed, but having sent out several titles recently which cost more to post than the payment has covered, we must now unfortunately increase our postage price for overseas customers (this still depends on weight and not on size). Our new postage rates for advance orders are therefore below. GGBP fiction titles: £1 within the UK. GGBP non-fiction, Fidra, Bettany Press: £2.25 within the UK.
GGBP fiction, Fidra, Bettany Press: £2.50 within Europe; £4 outside Europe. GGBP non-fiction (significantly heavier): £4 within Europe; £7.50 outside Europe. |
