Over the last fifteen years, author appreciation societies and publications such as Folly Magazine and the GGBP reprints have contributed to the appreciation and study of Girls' School Stories and enabled their adult readers to 'come out of the closet'! This conference is a celebration.

10:30 a.m. Registration; Coffee and biscuits

11:00 Welcome Sue Sims (Editor of Folly Magazine) and Hilary Clare on "Folly and The Respectability of Girls' School Stories".

12:30 p.m. Panel presentation and discussion; The Schools of EBD, EJO and DFB

1:30 Buffet Lunch

2:30-3:45 Book Sale and Craft Sale, also…

2:30-4:30 Quizzes and Activities

4:30 Tea and cake

5:00 Talks/Demonstrations/Discussions Session 1

5:45 Talks/Demonstrations/Discussions Session 2

6:45 Final plenary session; farewells

The talks/demonstrations/discussions (probably 3 parallel sessions each time) are expected to include;

Ruth Jolly and Adrianne Fitzpatrick talking about editing the Chalet books for GGBP

A talk by Ann Mackie Hunter on a Chalet or Abbey topic

A practical demonstration of book repair by Betula O'Neill
